Sitelite's platform fee is separate: a flat amount per paid registrant, never a percentage of your sales.
Platform fees are VAT-exclusive. Your accountant determines VAT or sales-tax treatment for tickets you sell - Sitelite does not calculate, collect, or remit taxes on your behalf.

Most platforms charge a monthly subscription on top of a percentage of every ticket sold. Sitelite doesn't work that way.

Figures are representative of common pricing in the market. On a $250 registration, a 2-5% platform fee runs about $50-$125 per ticket; Sitelite's is a flat $1 that doesn't grow with your ticket price. Sitelite's 50¢-$1 fee applies only to paid registrants with tickets $5 and above.
Free events: up to 100 registrants
If your event has no ticket price, Sitelite enforces a 100-registrant cap per event by default. This covers most ministry small groups, retreats, and single-day events. We'll happily raise it: email us with the event details and expected size before opening registration.
How the money works
Payments, built in
Sitelite sets up payments for you in minutes. When a registrant pays, the money is yours: it settles in your own payment account and pays out to your bank, never held by Sitelite. The flat per-registrant platform fee is collected automatically at the time of payment, so you never receive an invoice from us.
Nothing to install. Setup is a short guided flow that handles bank and identity verification without leaving Sitelite, usually about 10 minutes, and then you can start accepting payments.
If your registrants don't pay, neither do you.
Payment plans & Contribution Links
The platform fee (50¢ or $1, based on registrant total) is charged once per paid registrant at the time of the first payment. Future installments carry no additional platform fee.
When supporters contribute to a registrant's payment plan balance via a Contribution Link, no additional Sitelite fee applies. The fee was already collected at registration.
Pricing questions
Do I have to pay anything up front?
No, nothing up front. You only pay when your registrants pay: 50¢ or $1 per paid registrant (based on registrant total), collected automatically at checkout. No percentage of sales, no per-seat cost. Free events are always free. If you run free events only, or if registration is closed, you owe us nothing.
What's the card processing rate?
Sitelite bills card processing at the standard rate of 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction: no tiers to qualify for and no nonprofit paperwork. You get the standard rate from the day you connect. Sitelite's platform fee is separate: a flat amount per paid registrant (50¢-$1), never a percentage of your sales.
What counts as a 'paid registrant'?
A 'paid registrant' is one whose registration total is at or above $5 (per Terms §5): no fee under that threshold; 50¢ per registrant from $5 to $49.99; $1 per registrant at or above $50. Free events are always free.
What about add-ons: t-shirts, room upgrades?
Add-ons count toward the registrant's total when we determine which fee tier applies. So a $35 day-camp registration sits in the lower tier (50¢ per registrant), but a $20 t-shirt add-on brings the total to $55, which moves that registrant into the higher tier ($1 per registrant). Discount codes do not reduce the tier; the threshold is always evaluated against the pre-discount total.
Can I offer free tickets at a paid event?
Yes. If you have chaperone tickets at $0 alongside camper tickets at $150, only the $150-ticket registrants trigger the platform fee. Chaperones are free for you and for Sitelite.
What if a registrant gets a refund?
You refund from your dashboard, and the money goes back to the original card. Sitelite keeps its platform fee on a refund, unless you cancel the event: once it is cancelled, each registration you refund in full gets its 50¢-$1 fee back. Organizations already on Sitelite before this change also get the fee back when they cancel a registration and refund it in full by card.
Are there promotional credits?
Yes. Sitelite can grant promotional credit balances to organizations, which offset the per-registrant fee. Credits are applied at checkout before the per-registrant fee is collected. Contact us if you're interested in promotional credits for your organization.
How hard is it to set up payments?
Not hard. Click "Set up payments" in your Sitelite settings and follow a short guided flow with your business name, bank account, and identity verification, usually about 10 minutes. Once you're verified, funds from every registration settle in your own payment account and pay out to your bank.
